My Trip to the Capitol

October 12
We live in Des Moines now. Today we went to see the big gold dome. It sits on top of a giant building called the capitol.
The dome was so shiny in the sun! It looked like real gold. We walked up many steps to get inside.

Inside the building, the halls were huge. The floors had pretty tiles. I looked up and saw colorful pictures on the ceiling.
A nice guide showed us where lawmakers sit. They make rules to help our state.
I love my new city. I cannot wait to write more tomorrow!
