Penny loved her mom very much. Mother's Day was coming soon. Penny wanted to make a special breakfast. She wanted it to be perfect.
"What should I make?" Penny wondered. She thought about pancakes. Mom loved fluffy pancakes. She thought about fresh fruit too. Maybe some strawberries.
Penny woke up early on Mother's Day. She tiptoed to the kitchen. Her little brother, Tom, was still asleep. First, Penny got out a big bowl. She found the flour and eggs.
Mixing was fun! Splish, splash went the batter. Penny carefully poured the batter onto the warm pan. Round, golden pancakes bubbled up. They smelled so yummy.
Next, Penny washed some red strawberries. She put them next to the pancakes. She even found a pretty flower. She put it on the tray.
Penny carried the tray very slowly. She walked to her mom's bedroom. "Happy Mother's Day, Mom!" she whispered. Mom opened her eyes. She smiled a big, happy smile. "Oh, Penny! This is the best breakfast ever!" Mom said. Penny felt so happy. It was perfect.
