Dear Diary,
Today my family went on a big trip to the Platte River. My brother Rowan and my sister Iris came with me.
My dad Arthur drove the car. My mom Brooke brought warm blankets.
We went to see the sandhill cranes. There were thousands of big gray birds!
They made a loud noise in the sky. They sounded like happy bugles.
Iris took pictures with her camera. Rowan watched them leap and dance in the mud.
I watched the birds fly over the water. It was the best day ever!
