The Great Cake Caper

Maya adored cake. Not just a little bit, but a whole lot! One Saturday morning, Maya's dad baked a magnificent cake. It was vanilla with swirls of chocolate frosting and crunchy sprinkles. It looked and smelled amazing!

"Maya," Dad announced, "you can have a slice after lunch."

But Maya wanted cake now. Waiting seemed impossible. She peeked into the kitchen. Dad was busy gardening. An idea popped into her head. Quietly, Maya crept into the kitchen. The cake sat on the counter, calling her name. She cut a generous slice. It was so delicious that she decided one more slice wouldn't hurt. Then another. Before she knew it, Maya had eaten nearly half the cake!

Soon, her stomach started to rumble, and not in a good way. "Oh dear," she groaned. "I think I overdid it with the cake!" She felt uncomfortably full and a little queasy. When Dad came inside, Maya looked miserable.

"What's wrong, Maya?" Dad asked, noticing her pale face.

Maya confessed to eating too much cake. Dad chuckled softly. "Sometimes, even the yummiest things can make you feel unwell if you have too much," he explained. "Next time, remember that enjoying a little bit is often better than having too much at once."

Maya had definitely learned her lesson. That evening, she enjoyed a small slice of cake after dinner. Her tummy felt much better, and she savored every single bite!
