Why PicoBuddy accounts are managed by adults and what the account confirmation means.
Who can hold a PicoBuddy account?
Ordinary PicoBuddy accounts are intended for adults, including parents, guardians, teachers, homeschool educators, school administrators, and other education professionals.
Children can use activities selected by an adult, but they do not need an ordinary account with their own email address, subscription, or billing profile.
Why am I asked to confirm this?
During onboarding, PicoBuddy asks the account holder to choose a role and confirm that they are an adult who is authorized to manage the account and any learner profiles connected to it. Existing account holders may also see this confirmation once after the requirement is introduced or updated.
You cannot continue into the account workspace until the required role and confirmation are complete.
What the confirmation does not mean
The confirmation is an account declaration. It is not identity or age verification, it is not a child's consent, and it is not permission for every possible use of learner data.
Cookie and analytics choices remain separate. You can change those through Privacy choices in the site footer.
