How to download and edit a passage in Word

Use Edit in Word when you want an editable document instead of a fixed PDF. Check Pricing for current Word-export access.

Download the document

1. Sign in with the adult account.
2. Open the passage.
3. Find its printable or download section.
4. Choose the available question settings for the document.
5. Select Edit in Word.
6. Open the downloaded .docx file in a compatible document editor.

For the main passage export, the document contains the passage, selected questions, and answer key. Check the document before sharing it with a learner.

Make your changes

You can adjust wording, instructions, spacing, and other editable parts in your document editor. Save your edited copy with a recognizable name.

Editing the downloaded file does not update the passage stored in PicoBuddy. Your local copy and the online passage are separate.

Choose Word or PDF

• Use Word when you need to edit the document.
• Use PDF when you want the prepared printable layout.

Not every resource offers the same formats. Seeing a PDF option does not mean a Word version is available. Owning a passage or having Print access does not by itself unlock Word export.
