How to find your first reading resource
Find an existing passage, check its level, and save it without creating something new.
You can start with material already in PicoBuddy. You do not need to generate a new passage first.
Find a passage
- Open Reading passages.
- Search for a topic your learner enjoys or a subject you are teaching.
- Use the available grade and text-type filters to narrow the results.
- Open a passage and read it before choosing it for your learner.
Check the vocabulary, length, questions, and background knowledge it requires. A grade label is a starting point, not a guarantee of suitability.
For a topic-based starting point, browse Themes. For printable activities, open Worksheets.
Keep it for later
Sign in and use the favorite control to save a resource. Use a collection when you want to group related materials.
See Find your collections and favorites.
Choose what happens next
- Read the passage with your learner.
- Open its printable options and check the download requirements.
- Put a supported activity on a child's Shelf when their profile and kid access are ready.
Browsing existing passages does not spend creation credits. Downloads and online practice follow their own allowances.
See Put something on a child's Shelf or Download and print a worksheet.
